Swapping snow for the sun is an excellent idea for Christmas or New Years’. December in the Caribbean is mainly dry, with an average air and sea temperature of 80 F. Wake up with the best view of the Caribbean and plan your day over coffee. Stay in your anchorage and swim and snorkel in the turquoise water, or hop on the dinghy and spend the morning ashore. Lunch, and then it’s time to set sail and explore the next stop on your itinerary. The beauty of a yacht vacation is you set the pace, and you set the itinerary.

What are the Holidays like in the Caribbean?

The Caribbean Islands are among the most devout Christians in the world; Christmas in the Caribbean is a joyful time with unique cultural festivities and colorful parades.  Choose an all-inclusive charter, relax on your private yacht, go snorkeling, or kayak, and let your crew prepare Christmas lunch for you.  What about seeing in the New Year on a Caribbean beach with vibrant and musical New Year’s Eve parties? The Caribbean is home to famous NYE parties and a carnival-like atmosphere. Just decide where you want to go,  drop anchor, go ashore, and enjoy no taxi or car hire needed!

Holiday Season in the USVI

Take a break from the cold and spend Christmas relaxing on the beautiful beaches in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Enjoy Miracle on Main Street, the biggest holiday event on St. Thomas, with carolers, arts and crafts, shopping, and steel pan bands. For a relaxed NYE, find a beach bar on St John to see in the New Year; alternatively if you want to party, head across to the BVI and the famous Foxy’s NYE party.

Holiday Season in the BVI

The BVI is the New Year’s Eve capital of the Caribbean. Take part in “boat-hopping” parties with stops around the many beach bars on the islands. Many restaurants and bars hold “Old Year’s” celebrations on New Year’s Eve, with parties until dawn. The most famous is held at Foxy’s Bar and Restaurant on Jost Van Dyk with live music, dancing, dining, and drinking. The Trellis Bay NYE party starts at noon on New Year’s Eve and features fireworks and reggae in a family-friendly atmosphere.
